This is me attempting to sum up the past month..bear with me.

It's been far too long since I've updated. I'm sure you are all dying to know what's going on with the Bullocks. I do have a few stories that have occurred since I wrote last. I even have pictures! Okay, so first story.

It was a few days after Malone and I had gotten married. We were in the process of getting settled in still. He had to work that day, and there was still alot of moving in to do. So, while he was gone, I wanted to get ALL the moving in done so he wouldn't have to worry about it at all when he got home. So, I spent several hours putting things away, organizing, and making sure everything was perfect. As I was doing this, I decided to even do a little decorating. I had some green garland left over from the reception and I wanted to use it to decorate the top of my cupboards in the kitchen. So, I climbed up on the counter top to arrange it and make it all pretty. Things were going fine and I had pretty much finished. Still on the counter top, I turned to get down, and suddenly I lost my balance. I realized there was no stopping gravity now and nothing to grab so I fell clear from the top of the counter down on the floor landing right on my knee. Luckily I didn't land on my head or hit the edge of the countertop. I was pretty lucky! Although, my knee really took a beating. I had a HUGE bruise and it was extremely tender. When Malone found out, he told me I was lucky I didn't break my neck!! Which is true. I included a lovely picture of my knee. It doesn't quite compare to Tiffany's 25 bruises on her leg, but it's still a doozy. I'm also including the lovely picture of my thumb that I messed up about 2 weeks before the wedding. It got caught in the door and ripped half my nail off. I attempted to keep the nail on with nail polish, which ended up making it worse. OH and I am also including the most recent picture of my hand. I accidentally burned it on the oven on Friday. As you can see, I am a little accident prone. Luckily they're minor!






Malone and I are finishing up our fourth week of school this semester. As for me, school is going well so far. It's keeping me plenty busy. I don't have much of a social life other than Malone. But I am learning alot. I'm taking sculpting for the first time ever, and I have absolutely fallen in love with it. Our first project was a replication of a plaster head. In other words, we had to copy a mold of a head provided by our teacher, and create it out of about 25 lbs of water-based clay. At first, it was alot more difficult than I thought it would be. Since we started I've put in about 10 hours a week or so on it. We're finishing it up now and I have hollowed out the head and it is currently prepping for firing. This picture is not quite the finished product, but it's close. Freaky I know. But that's what the guy looked like! It's a death mask of a Renaissance Sculpter named Canova. Now we're working on models of an animal of our own choice in which we are going to use to make molds. I don't have a picture of it yet, but I'll update you!
As for my other art classes, Head drawing and Figure Drawing... I'm learning very slowly. There are times when I compare myself to the other artists and start to feel like i don't deserve to be in the art department. There's sooo much talent! I have to keep reminding myself that these people have put in alot more time in the past and I'm just getting started. If I put alot of effort into practicing drawing, someday I will be as good as them. Still feels like my butt is getting kicked though. But I am getting better.


I'm in a first aid class this semester. And it's been quite educational. The best part is that when the class is over, I'll be CPR certified as well as First Aid Certified. Pretty cool huh? Right now we're testing our skills on CPR. I got an A on the first part, and now I'm working on CPR for infants. No prob!




I'm also taking a Book of Mormon class. I have the most awesome teacher ever and I have learned SO much. We're in Helaman right now, and from what we've read so far in the class, it's so easy to relate the Book of Mormon to our day. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is so true and that it was meant for us in our day. I love it sooo much!


That's about all as far as school goes. Other than that, I've just been trying to learn how to cook better (poor Malone has to eat what I cook... poor poor man), and just be a better person in every way. I've been looking into some exercise classes on campus. They fit with my schedule pretty well, and I've been needing to work out. SO we'll see how that goes. Tiffany inspired me with her work out story, only I doubt I'll work my butt off that hard!


Malone is still working at Broulims. He got an offer to work at his old job at Grease Monkey, but he turned it down. They don't pay as well. I was a little disappointed just because I knew that if he worked there, he'd be with me more because he'd get off at like 6 as opposed to 11:30 every night. Oh well. He's been doing alright in school, even though it's definately not his favorite thing. He's really been dedicated to keeping up in school. I'm proud of him. He uses any spare time he has on homework because his work schedule is crazy. By the end of the day the kid is exhausted. He recently caught the cold that was going around and spent the last week or so pretty miserable. Luckily I never got sick!



The other night we decided to take a break from homework and go out for dinner. We came home with left overs and the movie Iron Man. Malone has been wanting to see it, so we rented it from redbox. It's a pretty good movie. I fell asleep though it...oops! I've already seen it luckily.


Work for me has gotten alot better. Since my highly experienced original coworkers left, we've had new girls working with me. I, being the only girl there that has been there probably the longest, feel like I have alot of pressure because I need to know all the answers. It's also my job to teach them what to do and what not to do. It's been hard!! At first I was so extremely stressed out because I was trying to keep track of 3 girls and make sure none of them made mistakes. Finally I decided that they need to make mistakes to learn. That's how I learned! So, I took a chill pill and let them learn. Things have gotten better and the girls have learned alot I think. I've been thinking about trying to find a job here in Rexburg to save on gas. So if anyone knows someone or of a job, or even ideas, let me know!


This weekend is Mother's Weekend here at BYU-I. It's a time where students' mothers get to come and visit their kids and go to their classes and spend time with them. Mom has her own classes to go to this time. So she won't be able to accompany me to my class. But we have plans to check out some stuff going on on campus Friday night. (I need to check on tickets!!) And her, Ashley, and me are all going to lunch on Saturday. So yay for quality time with Mom! Mom is truly a lovely lady. Love ya mom!


That's about it for now. Hopefully I'll remember to update this more often so that the blog isn't so long. And I'll also include some of my artwork so you can see my "improvements" I guess. Something I learned about art this semester is that Art exposes you. In that everything you've learned, things you feel, is all out on paper for everyone to see. What does your art say? Mine says, "I'm lacking much practice" right now haha! Anyway, I'll keep you all posted! Peace!

Just a couple little things

Well everyone it has finally happened. I got my braces off completely! I had the top ones off in time for the wedding, and I just got the bottom ones off yesterday. I'm so happy! It's so much fun eating taffy, apples, corn on the cob, and all the other naughty foods I couldn't eat while I had braces. I got a whole bunch of taffy and carmel to celebrate.

Malone and I are officially and completely moved in as of...actually a week ago. We have all our furniture and all our stuff all moved in. We even have pictures and clocks hung up on the walls. We're pretty excited to have our apartment all decorated. Now we just need to find time to spend together. Malone is still working nights at Broulims and it's hard not seeing him as much during the day. He gets really tired, and all this hard work is definately taking a toll. He's always been such an amazingly hard worker. I really admire that about him. Though not seeing him really stinks.

So today I got to help train Ashley at work! She just got hired on at Mobley physical therapy, where I've been working for almost a year and a half. It's going to be alot of fun having her there. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time together this summer with the wedding plans and all. So getting to work together will definately bring us closer. She's so dang cute!

Well, it's official. We're MARRIED!!! There for a while it didn't seem like the day would ever come when we'd finally be married. And here we are, almost two weeks after the day. Sorry it's taken so long for me to update! We have been busy!

THE ENDOWMENT
I took out my endowments at the Rexburg temple the day before the wedding (Friday) and was able to have both my brothers and their wives, both my parents, Malone's parents, and Aunt Paula and Uncle Varr Snedaker there. As everyone who had been through endowments knows the first time is overwhelming. This is true and there was alot of bizaar things I didn't understand completely. I think the one thing that touched me the most was just seeing my family and my soon-to-be companion there. I was calm most of the time but seeing my family and their smiling faces made me choke up a few times. Everything went relatively smooth. I loved having Malone there. I was so glad that we had that opportunity to be together for certain parts of the session. It was truly amazing.

THE SEALING
Saturday, August 23, Malone and I were officially married at 11 am in the Rexburg Temple. Everything went perfectly. We had alot of friends and family there for the sealing and it took all the strength I had to not cry with joy at seeing them there. Let's just say I concentrated very hard on the sealer, who was Malone's grandfather. Having his grandpa marry us was definately very special. It was amazing to have everyone there supporting us. After the sealing, my mom helped me get organized and ready for the "exiting of the temple" thing and for pictures. She was a really great help. I could tell that she was really stressed trying to make sure everything was perfect for us. This will sound bad, but I was glad it was her and not me! I was perfectly calm and excited. But I think that she would rather it be that way. Thank you,Mom, for everything!! You are one really really amazing woman. She really was one serious miracle worker of the whole "production". She made the phone calls, she organized the reception, she rented the stuff, she (with the help of many others) set everything up, she and Dad paid for just about everything. I am really truly grateful for my and Malone's parents for everything they did to make this wedding wonderful. And thanks to everyone else who helped out! You're amazing! We are truly truly grateful.

Anywho, so Malone and I, being giddy and excited, exited the temple. It was probably the first time I ever felt like a movie star! There were thousands of cameras, and people smiling at us. It was so much fun! We took about an hour out on the lawn of the temple with the photographer and got pictures with everyone that was at the temple and in the sealing. Lots and lots of pictures people! I think total there were about 450 pictures for the whole wedding. That's what I'm told anyway. After pictures out on the lawn, Malone, my mom, Deidra, and I all said goodbye to friends and family while we all went down to the gardens for more pictures. By this time, Malone and I were exhausted and starving! I'd been up since about 5 am, and Malone probably about as early. We spent about 45 minutes or so at the gardens at BYUI and finally left to get ready for the luncheon.

LUNCHEON
It was fun seeing everyone at the luncheon. The luncheon was held in the Garfield church at about 2 pm. The tables were decorated beautifully, the decor was amazing, and the backdrop was beautiful. I really felt spoiled! Beverly, Malone's mom, did a great job ordering food. There was a pretty good variety and plenty for everyone. I invited a couple more friends to the luncheon and it was great seeing them too. Malone and I got a little of everthing between the two of us and ended up eating off eachother's plates alot. My dad said a few very touching words about Malone and I that I wish I had written down! Beverly said some loving words as well. Malone also said a few words, and at that point I wished I wasn't nervous or else I would have said a few things too.

THE RECEPTION
After the luncheon, Malone and I had a couple hours to run home and pack for the Honeymoon... which I never got around to packing for until then. Malone took a cat nap on my bed while I packed. Eventually we made it back in time for the reception at the same place we held the luncheon. By then the room was completely changed around so that it was ready for guests. Everything looked so beautiful. It was just as I had imagined. We got more pictures of Malone and I and the whole family with the backdrop. We had the ladies from Broulims bring the wedding cake, the florist decorating the cake, and a few ladies from the ward and my family preparing food for the reception in the kitchen.

Speaking of the cake, here's a funny story. I'll try to keep this short because this blog is LONG. We ordered a cake from Broulims. It was simple yet elegent! We ordered two of the layers as styrofoam and one real. We ended up with three real and what ended up being a completely tilting cake! No one is sure what happened, but I think the "architecture" of the cake wasn't stable. So it tilted most of the night. Sometimes to the point it looked like it'd fall over. A little embarassing, but funny! The cake was delicious though. It had buttercream frosting and a chocolate/vanilla swirl inside. Mmmm!

The reception went well. Alot of people came!! It was fun seeing everyone and meeing lots of people. However, standing in one place that long was tiring. By the end of the night Malone and I were even more exhausted than before. However, we were excited to take off on our honeymoon. I think that's what really got us through! Eventually we cut the cake, did the garder thing, threw the bouquet (in which my best friend Deidra caught!), and we got ready to leave. Previously Malone grabbed his knife in case his car got saran wrapped. Just so happened that it was. And there were oreos all over it too. e had forgotten to lock his car, and the car was completely filled with balloons. It was completely fun! We said our goodbyes and we took off on our own. Finally after months of not being able to really "be alone", we were ALONE.

THE HONEYMOON
We spent the first night at Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls (in the Rio De Janeiro room), and took off for Utah the next morning. We spent all day Sunday sleeping and watching movies... which was nice. Malone hasn't really had much of a "vacation" since... probably before his mission. And I needed a vacation from all that wedding planning! So just relaxing and doing nothing was great! Monday we had originally decided to go to Lagoon, but those plans got messed up. So we decided to do some school clothes shopping! That was pretty much all we did that day and went back to the hotel and hung out some more. Tuesday we hooked up with Malone's brother's family and went boating. It was really windy that day so the water was extremely choppy. No wakeboarding unfortunately. So we just tubed. Tubing was exciting since every wave we hit we would catch air! Pretty dang fun! We were soo sore the next day though. That night we spent the night at his brother's house and left for home the next morning.

For the rest of our honeymoon, we opened wedding presents and moved in. Romantic eh?
We are finally pretty much completely moved in now. It's so nice to have a place of our own. I remember the first night we were moved in I sat there and was almost in tears because I was so happy, and grateful. Happy moving in was over, AND grateful to all of our friends and family who provided us with such a good start. We had lots of money, gift cards, and tons of beautiful gifts, and not to mention food! It was overwhelming to see how blessed we are to have such a good start. Thank you everyone who has given us so much support and love. We have truly felt your love and are so incredibly grateful. We are excited to have this great start, and thanks to you we have things to start out with. Thanks everyone! I have more to tell you, but I'll keep this strictly "wedding stuff" for now. Major crisis quickly solved! (luckily)

So the other day we had a pretty major crisis with the wedding plans. There's the long version of the story and a short version. I'll tell the short version. So Saturday I got an email from my wedding photographer (Sheila) that basically said, hey I didn't get a contract from you or a deposit so I went ahead and made other commitments for the 23rd. (Might I add that the photographer never mentioned a deposit or anything when we had spoken before. Nor had she mentioned that she had another offer for that day. So we had no idea we didn't have her obligated for that day.) We were out of a photographer for the wedding day. Great. Immediately I started to panic because we were 6 days from the wedding day with no photography arrangements. Luckily Mom and Dad remembered the name of Tiffany and Marshall's photographer and gave him a call. Out of some kind of miracle, he just so happened to have enough time to take our pictures Saturday. It's a miracle! So now we have a photographer for Saturday. Talk about a close call! I can't believe that Sheila would just bail like that. Most people would call the client and say, hey I had another offer, what is your decision? But she came up with lots of excuses why it was our fault. She never made it clear that we didn't have a set contract for Saturday. It was our fault in a way, but she didn't make it clear. Oh well. Problem is solved. I'm over it.

So my OTHER photographer, Lavinda, the one who took the engagement and prebridals, called me yesterday. I had mentioned in an email that Sheila had bailed on me and we were out of a photographer. I had asked if she knew anyone we could call. So yesterday when she called me, she said she was just sick that that had happened. She felt so bad for recommending Sheila to me and wished that she could take the wedding pictures herself. (Lavinda will be out of town this weekend, which is why she's not taking the pictures) She just felt sick she said. She had even called around to people she knew to see if they were available. How sweet of her!! So I told her things worked out with another photographer and we'd be okay. Lavinda has been such a sweet heart and has really bent over backwards to help us and to tailor the photography stuff to our needs. So Lavinda brought me a CD of about 80 prebridal pictures she took on Thursday. I posted a couple pictures so you could get a taste of how well she does. I think I'll be getting some more from her soon. I'm not sure though. But anyway, I had to share that crazy story and show you a couple prebridal pictures. It's only a couple more days and we'll FINALLY be married! YAY!!

6 Days

Well everyone, it's coming down to single digits. Six more days! It's unbelievable. We have everything ready except for a couple minor things. We are looking for a couple good tops to go with the skirts we picked for the bridesmaids. I originally picked a couple tops to go with, but it wasn't approved by Mom. So we're still looking. If anyone has any ideas of where to look, we'll take any suggestions! I was hoping to find a good deal on a new dress to wear for the luncheon, but I have been quite unsuccessful. It's really hard to find any good stuff with such limited choices here in Idaho Falls. So I decided I could go without. As for the temple dress, I did find one finally. It was a little pricy, but I figured I'd be using it alot. I got my prebridals done last Thursday and it was so much fun! I had my Mom, Ashley, and best friend Deidra there for support and assistance with the huge dress! I think the girls had fun helping me carry my dress and fluff it constantly. When we arrived at the place where we'd take the pictures, we realized we completely forgot the bouquet. Nice! Luckily Dad was able to bring it to us in good time. The photographers were really fun to work with. We have been talking with the photographer for the wedding and discussing prices and arrangements for this weekend. It looks like we might be scrunched for time for wedding pictures. I just hope it all turns out!

Malone and I decided that Broulims job would work for us for now. He started work stocking the dairy section last Monday. Since then we've seen much less of eachother. It's not fun, but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. He has a pretty tight schedule and works late at night sometimes. It really wears him out. We're hoping that his schedule will change in time for school so that he can spend the evenings with me and not working. He's not particularly fond of this job by any means. I'm hoping some other job will come up! And I have been thinking about finding a better job in Rexburg. Perhaps one with benefits or better pay. Deidra used to work at community care as a receptionist. She got medical benefits and was paid well I believe. The only downside is she had to work on Sundays occasionally. I considered working there, but that downside is a definate challenge. We'll just have to see. If anyone knows of anything or anyone with a job opening, let me know!

So the other day Malone told me he had a surprise for me. He had the "I'm up to something" look. Turns out, we are getting... a puppy. Here's the story. Malone and his family use to have a poodle named Tammy. They gave her away while Malone was on his mission. The deal was, Malone got to get one of her puppies for free when she had some. Turns out Tammy had some recently and we'll be adopting one of the puppies. The only problem is, we live in an apartment complex that won't allow animals. SO his parents offered to take care of it until we get an "animal friendly" home... which will probably be in about a year. Yay for us. We'll see how this one turns out.

16 is the Magic Number

Welcome to our new blog! Okay, so we're not quite "husband and wife" yet, but only 16 more days! I figured I may as well get started with the blogging thing like everyone else. Malone and I have set our wedding for August 23 and are really looking forward to it! Looking forward so much that the last two months of engagement have really flown by. I can't believe it's only 16 days left. We've got just about everything ready for the wedding and reception. I still have to find a temple dress for the endowment on the 22nd, and also some jewelry and shoes to go with the wedding dress. Prebridals are next Thursday and I am so excited! However my dress has been getting fixed for the past couple weeks, so it had better be ready! Everything else is pretty much taken care of, thanks so so many people. A big shout out goes to Karen Crystal for taking care of the reception! She pretty much took over and I am so thankful. I gave her an idea of what I wanted, and she just went to work. She's one amazing woman. Another shout out goes to my mom. She probably doesn't hear this enough from me, but I appreciate her so much. She's really gone above and beyond to make this wedding amazing. She puts up with my demanding, nasty attitude, and up and down emotions constantly and yet she still stands by me and is so willing to help. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. So thank you Mom! For everything that you do!

On a side note-- for those of you who know me. I got braces in January long before I knew I'd be married this summer. So as soon as I found out, I inquired my orthodontist what the chances of getting at least the top braces off before I got married. And you know what? He said it was a definate chance! I finally got the top braces off Tuesday the 5th. It's so wonderful to have my teeth back! They're so pretty and smooth! I love it! However, I didn't expect to have a little bit of a lisp from the new permanant retainer behind my front teeth. It's annoying, but apparently it'll wear off. I hope it does soon!

As for Malone and I, we have the hardest time not spending time together. We have been lucky to be able to see eachother just about everyday during the week. I had a friend who's fiance was in a completely different state most of their engagement. I don't know how she did it! A day without Malone is like having no oxygen. I love the kid to death! I think my mom really appreciates having him around because when he's with me, I'm alot nicer and happier. Malone has been looking for local jobs in Rexburg that will provide a little more stability than his current job. He's so willing to do whatever he needs to to make sure I'm happy and living comfortably. What a provider! I just hope he doesn't go overboard! I'm still working at Mobley Physical Therapy in Rigby. I love my job, and I love the people I work with. I've been there for over a year now and my boss has been so flexible with my schedule. Malone doesn't want me to quit because it's hard to find a job that works so well with my crazy schedule. We'll be sharing one car so we'll see how this all works out with us both having jobs and school and completely different schedules. The first year of marriage ought to be a doozy! Anyway, I love you all and I'll give you an update soon!
